After walking this past spring, i was mad busy with summer school, living life, Hawaii, and finishing up my last 2 classes of college. With job hunting and reading taking up most of my free time, I finally found some free time for my to just write. If I would have known the girls next door

If asked about my first memories of the girls next door, my very first thought would be they made us funfetti cupcakes and heart shaped chocolate chip cookies. From there on out, a new friendship was built. These girls were so nice to us; they kept inviting us out to get drunk and play this weird card game. We didn’t know them very well, but they were nothing but nice, inviting, and above all else, they were just really chill girls. It’s been an entire 9 months since we’ve known each other and our friendships have slightly grown apart, but I will always remember the great times we’ve shared.

In no particular order, I’m going to start with Tracy. She’s been one of the ones I stayed close with. She was the glue that held the houses together and through that, was the foundation for the friendships. My first memory of her was when we were out dancing and this girl broke me off. I couldn’t believe what was going on; she is a beast on the dance floor. Outside of that, she’s messy organized, she loves using weird ass Chinese sayings when we talk, and takes boxing so she can get that ass. Overall, she’s awesome!

Next up is Cathy. This girl right here is so special she doesn’t even know it. My fondest memories are super late late night chats in the front of our houses chillin. We once go bitched at by the neighbor for apparently talking to loud. The most recent time a different neighbor invited us in for drinks. There are things said between us that stay between us, and I love that with her. Cathy, you’re amazing, please don’t ever forget that.

Christine is a tough shell to crack. From what I got to know, she’s AIGHT. Not as cool as any of her other house mates, but she thinks she’s the best. I’ve collected this information from Tracy’s and Roxanne’s blogs. All jokes aside, she’s another amazing girl. She’s full of life, quirky, goofy, and if you want, she’ll even teach you to dougie, cat daddy, jerk, and even the shuffle. She’s a John Mayer fanatic, she wants to be Korean, loves her chai, and we share the same favorite dessert in crème brulee, but above all else, God is her #1.

Nancy is hard to catch. Most weekends she heads back home because her family always comes first. I don’t have much to say, she’s tight and super chill. She’s mostly doing her own thing, and that’s tight.

Last, but certainly not least we have Roxanne. I have recently found out she’s dating my frat bro, Mike Baek. It seems to make her happy, but when we first met, the group’s friendship was already on the decline. From what I do know, she’s always smiling.

It’s been an amazing school year. Let’s not worry about what has happened or what will happen, lets just enjoy and preserve the memories we have. I am grateful and honored I got to be your neighbor, you girls are all amazing. Until next time,

A week ago today, it was my roommate’s birthday. Jay Yoon, turn 22, goes to Dave and Busters for the first time, and gets super wasted. Getting to know Jay these past 9 months has been an experience to say the least. He’s a very out going guy and is very blunt. He’ll let you know what’s on his mind, but he’s always an honest guy. This one’s for you Jay, I’m glad for the fun times we had this past school year, and I’m hoping for more good times to come.

This past memorial weekend, TimmYAH and I took a little road trip to Los Angeles to spend the weekend. When we head up, it’s always an adventure and filled with fun. This time though, we were looking to have a blast. There were a couple things we wanted to check off on our list. A little bit of shopping, head out to the “Art in the Streets” exhibit at MOCA, and make it out to see Lupe Fiasco at the UCLA Jazz Reggae festival. I didn’t have my camera with me to show you guys the great eats, but I need take a shit load of photos while at MOCA. Life is a short trip, the music's for the sad man

Being out in San Diego, sometimes I start to miss home. I enjoy hanging out with my groups of friends and most definitely spending time with my family. Then one day I was talking to Hanh on Facebook chat, and started making up bullshit about how he should live in SD with us. Sure enough during the Sun God festival, Hanh and Guapo make the trip out to see us and chill for the weekend. I was too busy hanging with them to take any pictures, but when we did have time, this is what we came up with. If you're wondering, Hanh is mad lit in the top picture, haha.

Oh what a feeling, I'm feeling life

This is super old, but back when I was home for spring break, I didn’t have much time to handle my business and what was even more funny I spent time hanging out with my roommate whom I live with in San Diego. Great use of my time at home right? Haha, jokes aside, I took Tim to this taco joint and I was hoping he’d fall in love with it. From the amount of silence during our meal and his concentration on the food, I’m pretty sure he liked it, and if you don’t believe me, feel free to ask him.

All Star reaching, all start peaking, All Star Weekend

Fuck... I am up at 5am blogging for you guys. I just want to thank you each and every one of you who reads my blog and has been checking it again lately. It really feels good to be back and writing again. I guess the next even on our time line would be my bday and the month after my bday. For my bday the boys of 4040 Mahaila rounded up Cris, Danny, and my little sister to head for Vegas. When we got there shit just got out of hand. I won so many prizes at Circus Circus arcades, the boys went up in gambling and my sister was hitting them slot machines. We hit up the Rhino a few times, and I think I might have even fallen in love with a stripper… Then the month after, I headed to LA for All Star Weekend. I didn’t get many pics from that, but the Black Mamba party and the events were cool, even the shopping experience was awesome.

Most people find it hard to hang out with their siblings, none the less party with them I love my little sister, she's the shit and better than your little sister. I call her Ngan, she calls me Anh Hai, and in life family always comes first.

Upon my return to UCSD, I had to figure out my living situation. As I thought to myself, how to not be fucked and get stuck with randoms, I quickly started making phone calls. I don’t know if the Gods were looking down on me, but within 2 phone calls, I was set and ready to go. I end up living with 2 of my best friends whom I went to high school with and even De Anza with. All that was missing was a 4th, and we found him. I was nervous about living with a person I have never met, but sometimes in life you just have to play the cards you were dealt. On the first day of moving in, all my doubts were erased, after I set up my bar, as you see in the first picture, all the roomies were stoked and ready to party. Everyone knows me, if you love to drink, then you’re my friend. I know I am slowing filling you guys back in, but give me some time, we’ll catch up soon enough… For now, let me introduce you to 4040 Mahaila Boys.

This right here is my dude Jay Yoon. The roomie I was worried about, but things turned out for the best. He's mad chill and has in hands in anything that can make money. Lastly, see that jacket? I know you see that jacket... shits ill!!!

We all know Francis, I've known this dude for 9 years now, and shit never gets old. I can always count on him and he's a true homie. Francis and I go back though, high school physics, tennis, and the car pool days at De Anza. Don't sleep on this kid, SF I hope you're ready for him

Timmy, Timmy, Timmy... What can I say about my nigga... Though knowing him for 9 years, we didn't get dope until the summer of 2007. We would host back yard BBQ's, made LA roadtrips, and just have a great time together. Living with him has made him one of my best friends and I know later in life, he will still be in it.

This is awesome to write. I love writing about the people I care for because I know they are the truest of friends. I am so glad I had to privilege to live with these guys and it's an honor to call them my friends and house mates.

What a trip!!! Again, sorry I’ve been gone for so long, a lot of shit has and hasn’t been happening. Some days are the same and some just have moments that keep you going. While I was away, I realized that I haven’t blogged in a while and totally had to get back to it. This past weekend I was able to go back to my second home, UCSD, for their Sun God festival. I was pretty excited to see B.o.B. and Drake, but I just wanted to hang out with my friends and enjoy the weather. The weekend was pretty hectic though. We left San Jose at 11pm, ate at Sonics in Gilroy, arrived at UCLA to pick up my little sis then finally reached UCSD at 6am for a quick nap. Up at 9am and after all our morning duties, we started crackin bottles at 10am and was drunk by 2pm. We headed to catch B.o.B. but got high from second hand smoke, decided to finally eat, but ended up buying beer and drinking on campus. I think I blacked out by 4pm and passed out by 6pm. When I awoke at 8pm, I tried to get food, but everywhere was closed, so Orlando and I just drank some more and headed out to see Drizzy. The next day we got up and headed to LA super late, by the time I got there, the shops were about to close, so we went to HUF LA and had some beers with my sister’s boyfriend. After all that, we got to go eat some good ol’ dorm food courtesy of my sister. It was all you can eat so it was bomb regardless of what was bring served. After dinner we decided to continue the party by finishing a bottle of Hennessy and a 6pack of Stella. The next morning was rough, but we managed to get up and hit up some shops before heading back to San Jose. I assume you guys are tired of reading so I’ll just set up these pics, take a look, hope you like what I copped as much as I do...

Having your birthday in January is great, you get to turn your age before anyone else, but shitty part is that most of the time everyone is back in school so you can’t really do much. This year, as I turn 22 my friends were all leaving the day after. So we all got together and had ourselves a wonderful time. It started off at Dave and Busters then headed to Temple bar and lounge and ended at Iguanas. It was a fun filled night and I was so glad I got to spend it with the people that matter to me most.

second best part about Christmas

So this year I got some pretty good stuff. I know it's hard to shop for me because I usually go after or hunt down whatever it is I want. So I am really appreciative when my friends and family shop for me and get me things I really like or really want but didn't know I wanted it. Here's a look at what I got.

So I think this takes the cake. BEST present of Christmas 2009. This gift was from Hameed and Kev, I think... All the contents were legit though. Kaws Dissected Companion Key Chain, and all 3, that's right, all 3 Original Fake x Stark Laces. Varsity Red, Laser Blue, and Grey, any ideas what shoes to put them on?

Runner up is little sister's gift. She ALWAYS knows what to get me. TH x DMC new era, that brown Harris Tweed x Supreme Box Logo, a giant Supreme logo earwarmers and that black friday exclusive TH tee.

Originally, these were for me, but I ended up trading them for a smaller size for my little sister since she ALWAYS hooks me up.

Christmas is the PURIST holiday

Yeah yeah yeah, I know I am running WAY late, but I still wanted to share with all you guys our little Christmas party at Purist. It was funny, because I guess this year Purist decided to get a tree, and get into the spirit. Last year I don’t think there was as much cheer, but the holidays always brings out the good. I think it was funny how all of this started. Back in November during the Jay-Z concert, I decided to do ALL my Christmas shopping for the entire Purist Fam. That includes Kev, PP, Marco, Rich Liu, Hameed, and Mark. Then I guess everyone else had to get each other gifts since I decided to hook everyone up, I just love Christmas, it isn’t even about getting gifts, it’s about the smile and feelings others get when they open up your gift. I knew that everyone would love their gift, I don’t have pics because I didn’t want to post them, but Kev got “Personal Effects” which is a book by Hiroshi, and a all leather Supreme camp cap. PP got a massage from Burke William, in which, Marco, Hameed and I went 3 ways on. Marco got his wish with a royal basic Supreme beanie and a matching camera pouch. Rich Liu, my best buddy, got a fine gauge black beanie from Supreme and an “air freshener.” Hameed got hooked up with a Supreme light weight tweed camp cap and Mark ended up with a big logo grey Supreme beanie and also an “air freshener.” Then we decided to have a holiday party to swap gifts, but the night turned into a shit show after we killed a handle of Belvedere and went to Temple and continued to “rage.”

School is over and I’m so glad. I am going to have all this time and I can do whatever I want, except I have to work 40 hours a week. I love money though, so I think things will work out just fine. Anyways, school was pretty chill this quarter, I met some new people and they seem pretty dope. I hang out with them on my hour break and one day I brought my camera and took some shots. So it’s been a while since I blogged, but I have been real busy. There has been a lot of pick ups and a lot of fun in between. I got to see Jay-Z out at UCLA when he did his Blueprint 3 college tour. I did my fair share of shopping and got a lot of Christmas shopping out of the way. Of course I didn’t leave empty handed and got myself a few things. Then there was a bunch of school things going on, and work was piling a lot of hours on me. School has been rough, I’m just trying to earn those A’s and hopefully earn my way back into UCSD. I really miss all my friends out there and everything about being in SD. Shit here has been okay, work is at least chill though, got cool homies and a way cool boss. I guest that’s all I have to say for now, so as soon as I take pics, I’ll put em up.

I know I haven’t posted anything in a while, but I just been busy trying to get into my classes, and I got a new job, but I still have one at Purist. School is pretty much super chill except for that fact that my classes are bullshit and full of readings. I think I set myself up for at least a 3.6 this quarter. Hopefully I would be able to return to UCSD in the spring, but who knows, all I can do to try my best. Else wise, I have been keeping myself pretty busy and best of all; you know I got new stuff, CHECK IT!!!

I think that EVERY company or brand that makes hats, NEEDS to do this. Think about it, if HUF, TRUE, FTC, UNDFTD, Hundreds, Mighty Healthy, and who ever else makes hats, should really look at this and make it happen. Who wouldn't buy one of these hats if it had a "H" logo, "TRUE" logo, 5 strikes logo, "Adam Bomb" outline, and a "MH" logo? Tell me you wouldn't buy that? Well, we live in a world of reality so I guess I will just keep dreaming.

Today, I rolled up to the city to pick the new Hundreds "POST" fitted. I made some calls and got a size 7 1/2 on hold for me and a size 8 on hold for Marco. When I got up there, I went in, got my shit, then tried on my hat for good measure. I come to find that the 7 1/2 is slighty too snug and they sold out of 7 5/8. It was one of those FML moments for me, but at least Marco got his and now Mark will get his. I didn't leave without adding to the collection though. I also picked up the Alexander Spit album, shit slaps!!!

Sold out of 7 5/8 so I am giving up my 7 1/2 to Mark.

At times my dad can be a total doucher and I want to punch him out, but I know he means well. I wouldn’t have half the life I do now without him. He has taught me so much through my 21 years of life, how to predict, plan, execute, and fight through adversity. There are so many words I can write about him, but really I can’t really explain how thankful I am and how grateful I am. So I will just end this post with, I love you dad, thanks for everything.

So have I told you how much I love my job? My manager is dope and my bosses are amazing. I love going to work and I love going there even though it's my day off. Anyways, we have just started up our own line and so far we have 2 t-shirts printed. I have the first sneak peek of what the shirts look like. They are going to be available next week, so you should come by and cop. What I am really excited about is that when Kev got back from Japan, he brought me back a goodie! I was so excited to open it I almost spilled my drink on it. Anyways, this is what you have been waiting for!!! Weekend HEAT wave

As the heat wave passes through us this weekend, it also hit my closet. I managed to pick up some new shoes. I made the journey out to HUF on Hayes St. and managed to pick up 2 pairs of Tier Zero Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) Nike Air Max’s and pulled some strings to pick up 3 pairs of UNDFTD Converse Poorman Weapons. Both the LAFs went to Kev, while 2 of my UNDFTD Poormans went to Rich, and Calvin. Your welcome guys, hope you enjoy the shoes. My work place, Purist, released the team orange Air Max 95 and some royal Griffeys. Of course I had to pick them up! Lastly Ralph sold me his Nike Air Yeezys awhile back and I finally got rid of them.

As you all know, I am some what of a food connoisseur at least for most of the spots in San Jose. For the longest time I could remember going to this spot, but yesterday I took Calvin to one of my favorite cheese steak places. It’s a little hidden spot out in Saratoga a few blocks away from the Japanese market. The prices are just right, and you get plenty of food. Even Calvin admitted it was delicious. Here is some proof, but don’t take my word, go eat it for yourself.

This is what I ordered. Cheese Steak Hoagie.. It's the best thing on the menu, get it!!!

This is what Cal got. It's called "The Works" no veggies but all the goodness is inside.

How do you not get fries?!?! Scrunchy fries are the best. They have ranch, ketchup, and hot sauce for the fries, Cal and I chose cheese!!!

Right now, we all know how hard it is to get a job in this current economy. I am lucky enough to have a job, but beyond that it’s really something I enjoy. I work at Purist and it’s probably one of the best jobs ever. I have 2 great co-workers, and both my bosses are amazing. The best part is I get to be submerged into this culture I love so dearly. I have met a handful of the greats in the business, Ray of Mighty Healthy, Benny of Benny Gold, and Alex of Homeroom to name a few. So yesterday I promised that I was going to make a post today. I am a man of my word and here I am. Within a one day span, I went to SF, went to both HUF joints, went to SFPD, went to get bomb ass food and Chimay ale, SF impound, TAD gear and back home. It was a long ass journey, but it was still a fun day. I should really start bringing my camera around more since I got a new one and I don’t take enough photos. So now that I am back home, it kind of sucks not being back in SD. I miss my girlfriend, my friends, my roommates, my frat, and hard to admit, but I miss school. There are plenty of upsides to being home though. I get bomb food from my momma, a new camera from my dad, time to spend with friends, and ohh yeah; I don’t have to go to school. I won these bad boys off of a raffle. Actually, they got tired of calling tickets and just started to toss them. I managed to catch one and "Jay- Jay" tossed me an extra since he was sitting on 3. They are metallic colored bears that are key chains. You can use them as so, but they some with an attachment that you can toss on your sweater zipper. They are pretty cool and plus, they were free, who doesn't love free stuff?

In bigger news, my dad hooked me up with his old camera. D100 with 28mm-200mm lens and a Nikon SB-600 flash. This camera is pretty bad ass, but I am still trying to learn how to use it. I still have the D60 and turned it into a back up cam. If anyone wants to cop, let me know. My new camera is the shit!!!

Last Night in San Jose

Damn, spring break has sure gone by fast. It was a pretty awesome week. I got to hang out with friends, I think I spent half a day throwing up from too much drinking, I’ve gotten to update my blog in about 2 days, I received my be-lated 20th bday and Christmas gift (still waiting on my 21st bday gift), and lot of other shit. My family got their kick from me being home, but I think that was the best part, being able to talk cameras with my dad, raggin’ on my mom because she’s goofy and has a Asian accent when she talks, and got to pick on my little sister while she’s still around. The friends part was just a benefit, I got to hang, shop, and party with the people closest to me. To end my week long journey back home, Purist threw a party and luckily, I got the invite. It was an Art & Toy show, with music and lots of beer. I think this was Purist biggest event yet, with a HUGE turn out, the biggest one I’ve seen since they opened their doors. If you have no idea what I am talking about, then you best step your game up. Nike SB changed the sneaker game, turning it from an interest and hobby into a lifestyle. With limited releases pushing shoes valueing over $1000, kids couldn't get enough of the hype. The original series launched in 2002, with testings released in 1999 with the "Pro B" models. The 2002 set premiered with the orange Nike boxes, but the years following, the colors have been changed and Nike SB made a name for itself. The big and best upside to the switching of boxes? Supreme does a collab every series!!! The first was the dunk low, which everyone still craves. The silver box was the dunk hi, using croc skin with gold stars on the side panels. The pink box series, had delta forces, which most of us forget about. The black boxes brought us the blazers, and the gold brought us the use of the trainer II. With this new box, Supreme has used yet another shoe that will allow Nike to produce other colors forcing those to buy that couldn't get their hands on the Supreme models. They are using the Nike Bruin. It is basically a low top blazer, with some minor adjustments. Honestly, I just want my pair now. These are going to be hot and expect a line. Don't take my word for it, check em out and tell me what you think.

Welcome to the "Frat Life"

Being as there is nothing to do in La Jolla, I decided to be a “bruh” and join a frat. Now that I look back, it’s one of the best decisions in my life. It’s so much fun and I get to make friendships that will last a lifetime. When most people thing about frats, they think, guys fondling each other, more gay shit, keggers, more gay shit, and partying with girls. To be honest, those things are pretty true and you get the added bonus of making friends, and meeting so many people that your Facebook friend count should increase about 200%. The big thing is, you get to party with girls, lots and lots of girls. I’ll let you judge, but in the words of Kanye, “Welcome to the good life.”

These first run of pictures are from an exchange with a sorority known as Kappa Kappa Gamma. They are one of the hottest sororities at UCSD. We grubbed at Pat & Oscars, then we headed to the “pool house” for the after party.

It feels so good to be back home. San Jose is where it’s at, friends, family, and food. San Diego sometimes gets boring and repetitive. Plenty of things have happened over the months, but I think turning 21 was the most memorable. I got to go to Vegas, and at the end of the week I crossed and became an official bro in my fraternity. My roommates hooked it up with a dinner at a 5star restaurant that had the best view and food in town. Besides school, alcohol, girls, and mixing the 3 that’s pretty much all that has been going on. I’ll let the pictures talk.

Christmas Part Deux

White Elephant party was in full effect the day after Christmas. This year instead of getting everyone a gift, we did white elephant. It's pretty cool if you haven't done it before. You get a universal present that is fairly thoughtful and dope. Everyone gets together, you draw numbers for orders and you pick out presents in that order. The fun part is that after the first person goes, you can steal their gift or pick another one. So you're best bet is to go last and either steal something you really want or take a dive and pick that last gift. I can't tell you what I bought for the event, but i will tell you i got a portable grill. As for other presents, you still have to stay tuned...

One of my favorite times of the year. You got family and friends back from school, what more can you ask for? Happiest time of the year they call it, how can it not be? As far as i can remember, my family never did Christmas, we always did Christmas Eve because we are just ballin like that. So i never stayed awake to catch Santa because we were special and got gifts early, but we never got into the hype of Santa, we knew our aunts and uncles were giving us gifts. We normally have a HUGE gathering over at my grandpa's (may he rest in peace) house, though traditions never change, we tried a little something new. It was just the fantastic 4, mom's cooking, pop's drinking, and the lil sis chillin. It was an awesome Christmas Eve, and i was so excited for gifts.

Damn, so it's been about 3 months since i have posted anything on here and what a 3 month period it has been. My first official quarter at UCSD, i joined, or rather pledging a fraternity, and i think there is a special someone in my life now, but more about that person later. So there really isn't much to UCSD, you might find me at the 6th floor of Geisel, our library, but not getting much studying done because it's the "Greek" floor and all we do is hang out and talk to each other. Here and there, i will make an appearance at RIMAC, which is our main gym, it's huge. I would ball someone up or out lift them, whatever, it's just in a days work. Besides that, i am mostly at my apartment or chillin at PC and getting some grub. So there isn't really much to do at UCSD, thus i am pledging a fraternity. I hang out and chill, sorry i haven't kept this thing updated and made zero posts while i was at UCSD. I think i can tell a story from just the pictures i am about to post. They pretty say what was going on from September until i got back. As for pick ups, you'll have to wait until next post and check out all the heat i picked up.

John Hancock is Wanted...

Movies have been the greatest pastime and was a big escape for people since the Great Depression. 2 movies that I have seen lately are none other than Hancock and Wanted. Hancock is the story of a super hero that will save the day, but doesn't really care what happens as he is saving it. Will Smith again fills in a great roll displaying his versatility. The movie is filled with comedy, a little bit of romance and plenty of action. Mixed reviews or not, I think this one was worth watching.

Now this, this is the movie to see, the movie is about a group of assassins trying to "kill one, but save a million." Jolie is brilliant and has a little something special to offer at the end or close to the end of the movie. McAvoy was also tremendous in this movie. Playing the role of the protagonist, he delivered and made the movie that much better. The plot is full the twist and turns, making you think and ask what is going to happen next, but don't take my word for it, go check out both movies yourself. If you need a little help, click HERE.

As a week has past by, I recollect on the fact that it was Father's day last Sunday. Looking back as far as I can remember, my dad has always been there for me. From teaching me to use my computer to the more recent days of working my DSLR. The crazy thing is my dad had no male figure to look up to. His father, my grandfather past away when my dad was only 6. He was left with his mother, and two younger siblings to look after. So as I celebrate this momentous day, I realize that my dad has shaped my world. From what I do, to how I act. He has gone as far as went to school with me on my first day of pre-school, to watching me soon leave De Anza and hopefully become a Triton in the fall (fingers crossed, knock on wood). So the least I could do was cook some food and buy him a gift we can all enjoy.

With the surge of boutiques opening in San Jose, Purist has reached their one year mark, putting themselves on the map. They are San Jose's spot for high end clothing. Carrying such brands as Hundreds, Fiberops, Undefeated, Stussy, and much much more. For their anniversary, owner Kevin, decided to throw a huge party and releasing some collaborations with some powerhouse brands.

the party kept going all night, mostly because the music was loud and never stopped, "DJ, spin that shit!!!"

as for their collaborations, they did a number of them, releasing them slowly throughout the month. The first shirt they did was from Futura Labs. They made a black "gr" colorway for the public and a yellow one for "friends and family." At the party, they dropped 2 more collaborations. One with Recon and one with Black Scale. These ones are the "gr" colorways release to the public:

The party was awesome, and Kev even got everyone into VIP for club Voodoo, but only those over 21 and with an ID got in, therefore I went home, luckily not empty handed. Thanks to Kev and Marco talking to Kev, i got these:

Don't Believe The Hype

After waking up from drinking Grey Goose, Patron Silver, and who knows what else go into my system, I decided to make a quick trip to the all knowing Fairfax Ave. Breakfast was a breeze, heading back out to In N Out and then made our way out. Our first stop is up the alley way, the simple yet always outta control, The Hundreds LA. The lay out is well put together and the people... very friendly, even though one of those Hundreds’ guys is after my sister.

and if you haven't heard, they are opening up their own school...

On our next stop, right around the corner, is the store where you can get any pair of kicks you can possibly imagine. Flight Club has been home to many resellers looking to make a buck, but they do offer a great selection.

Then we turned and walked back the other way, making a stop to LA's finest fitted spot, Hall of Fame. They carry everything from Leilow to DQM, and even a little bit of HUF.

then right next door, was Rivington's own, ALIFE, the store is done up like a museum and even though they don't allow pics, I managed to snag one.

So if you keep walking, about 2 or 3 stores down, you will see the most anticipated store on the block, they added this location, originally in NY, and the first store on Fairfax, none other than Supreme. This store even has a skate bowl in the back of the shop, the only downside is that the customer service is weak, unless you know em, again, thanks to the little sister.

As you walk across the street, you see a store with the feel of an art gallery. Filled with posters of old school porn (and I mean old school, Ron Jeremy in his prime old school) and a lay out giving it a homey type feel. You guys know them by Freshjive, but their store on Fairfax is called

and the last visit, was the most anticipated, as I walked up to the door, I was greeted by none other than Mega. The low key and simple layout gives it a calming vibe, but the boxy and squared elements give the store a certain pop. HUF finally made the move from the 4 stores in SF and posted a flagship store in LA's own Fairfax.

What does a person do as soon as they turn 21? They drink until they can't drink anymore. Our good friend Scott Matsui had a birthday party in LA. Friday afternoon rolled by and I decided to round up Orlando and Francis hopped into the Batmobile and made the drive. Upon our arrival, we were forced to sit and wait until someone can down and let us into the appartment. The art of surprise was ruined due to the fact that we couldn't get into the apartment. The place was filled with party goers and plenty of us were waiting anxiously for Scott to take the first drink of his life. So enough with the chit chat, I will show you what ended up happening...

A Welcome Back

Vanessa Doan was back in town from her adventures of school and life. We were all invited to a dinner at BJ’s Brewery. The wait was long, and the dinner was even longer. Fafi, the Persian artist, has done a collaboration with cosmetics juggernaut M.A.C. to produce some handbags, make up bags, and my favorite, some toys. I managed to pick up some of the toys, but their giant handbag was over priced for clear plastic.

As i was enjoying breakfast at the break of noon, i was looking forward to this JazzReggae concert event that was happening at UCLA. I was super excited to see some of the coolest artist and enjoy their even better music. First, was the sweet soothing sound of Amos Lee. His performance was more relaxed, but I thought it could have been more exciting. Next up, we have the, Immortal Technique. Their tracks were hard hitting and they way they spit theirs rhymes was so hard, it wasn't even spitting, it was vomit. Then one of my favorite artist came up and did her thang. She is so hot, it makes the sun seem like an ice storm, she is none other than Goapele. Her voice is amazing and her lyrics are so touching. I would marry her if i had the chance. Another day, another dolla...

As i woke up to the southern Cali sun, i couldn't find it. The morning was covered by a blanket of gloomy clouds. As I stepped outside, bullets were flying everywhere, and the rain paid a visit. So evidently I decided to leave the camera at home and it ended up being the worst decision of the day because by noon, the weather was more beautiful than the relentless eyes of Megan Fox. There were the usual visits, Supreme, in which i was able to get some pick ups, luckily i was greeted by some of my sister's friends from the store and they hooked it up nicely. The next stop was into the smaller shops around, Hall of Fame, A-Life, and Reserve LA. No pick ups at these spots, but if you are down there, a drop by is a must. There was a HUGE line at Diamond, so we headed over to The Hundreds. Greeted my Leila and the gang, my sister had a pick up or two. Diamond dropped their new season at the store this past Thursday, but there was still a fatty line. I manage to sneak in, get a few words with Nick Tershay and manage to get hooked up with a new tee. The last stop on Fairfax was to Flight Club, the shoes they stock are amazing, from Jordans to New Balance, and Nike to Vans. The prices are a little high due to the fact the sellers have to give 20% of that money back to Flight Club. Next, my sister took me to the so called "other" side of Melrose. When we arrived, we waited in a line outside A Bathing Ape just on a regular day to shop!!! After we rolled through to Adidas, DC, Crooks, and the last store on the "other" side was none other than Burton. These new stores are beautiful in design and the workers are really nice to talk to. Make the drive and give them your support. So enough of me talking, I know you want to see what I bought, so here is about 2100 dollas worth of stuff:

So after planning a month in advance to go to LA, everyone bailed faster than Kobe claiming consensual. In the end, I made the grueling 325 mile drive and ended up in a place with a calming atmosphere, electrified with a hidden agenda. The drive was so bland, the scenery couldn't have been more exciting than a 2 year old learning to use a toilet.
